Management & Trustee Training
Training programmes directed towards the needs of both Managers and Trustees are wide ranging. Course subjects include Charity Law, Roles and Responsibilities, Finance and Budgetary Matters, Funding and Forward Planning, Employment Legislation, Time Management, Interview Skills and much more.
Management training includes Marketing, Health and Safety, Stress Management, Working with Volunteers, Supporting Staff and Staff Development courses. Trustees are offered training programmes in issues such as; Policy, Constitutions, Developing Committee Skills, Liability of Trustees and Financial Stewardship.
Volunteer Training
A full range of learning events will be held covering issues such as Child Protection, First Aid, Stress Busting, Food Hygiene, Confidence Building, Health and Safety etc. There will be a small charge for all courses.

VANEL regularly distribute a number of publications directed towards the training requirements of Managers, Trustees and Volunteers. Regular updates of training programmes are included within the VANEL Newsletter.
VANEL would be pleased to receive suggestions for the provision of future courses and will organise in-house events as required.
Minor Learning Related Funding Available
The training department manages two small learning related funds:
Global Grants
This award is for voluntary and community groups. Groups can access up to £10,000 to deliver "learning" to unemployed volunteers or clients. Application forms and advice is available from the training department.
Community Champions Fund
This fund is aimed at INDIVIDUALS who need minor financial support to provide community activities. If you have any ideas that will enhance your local community, please contact us to discuss them.
